With a bunch of people wearing suits and made up to have no faces.
I’d need to find the right location though… Something wooded but preferably not one of our redwood areas. Or maybe the redwoods would work…? There are those circles of trees with the clearings in the middle..

I’m thinking either everybody looking thin and wearing stilts or perhaps the more interesting route of have a bunch of people in all shapes and sizes sitting around hanging out. I think it could be interesting. A series of very matter of fact photos of people in suits without faces?
What does it mean!?

Hah.

I wonder how much suits are at the goodwill..

And how hard it is to make bald caps look good..

When your heart sinks because you’ve been working on a photo for a long time and are finally finished and then Photoshop can’t save “due to a program error”.

Seriously Photoshop..?

Seriously….?

I like how the colors and light turned out in this one.

Almost painterly.

I’ve been looking at a lot of Renaissance/Baroque art recently and I think I’m going to try and start lighting more like the old paintings.

I’ll probably get another light and start using bigger softboxes (or maybe just diffuse the light with a big stretched out sheet or something for really soft fill).

The wind was crazy during the shoot at the beach so I wasn’t able to use the lighting equipment I usually do. (That 60” umbrella would be sailing down the beach so quickly.. hahah) Now I get to try to retouch me way out of the super contrasty sunlight…

Closer crop of the last retouch GIF I posted.

Takes a long time to retouch to retain good skin detail but its worth it.

Even after I’ve edited it I’m still unsure of how much I like it. I can’t get the colors to work as well as I’d like. It may just be the photo. I don’t know…

This was a pretty awesome shoot. So much paint. I like doing portraits with cool looking body paint/makeup. They make things so much more interesting.

I’m pretty happy with the light in these. I’d like to think I’m getting a little better with how to position the light to get the look I like. One big light feathered a bunch to make it’s own fill. I love the quality of light that comes from my 60” Softlighter…
